ACTIVATE — Merchandising

Merchandising that protects your listings and grows rate of sale

Merchandising is the in-store work that makes a listing perform: stock on shelf, facings correct, siting visible and point of sale in place. FOTS sends teams into your stockists to fix what has slipped, photograph the result and report store by store.

The problem we solve.

A listing is not a sale. Products end up in the stockroom, on the bottom shelf or behind a competitor's display, and the brand only finds out when reorders stop.

How merchandising works with FOTS.

  1. 01

    Prioritise the stores

We target the stockists where compliance matters most: highest volume, newest listings and stores with known issues.

  2. 02

    Fix the shelf

Stock brought out, facings corrected, planogram compliance checked, secondary siting agreed with the store.

  3. 03

    Place the visibility

Point of sale, shelf strips, displays and chillers sited where shoppers actually see them.

  4. 04

    Report the reality

Before and after photography and store-level data, so you can see availability and compliance across the estate.

What is retail merchandising?

It is the in-store execution of a listing: making sure stock is on shelf in the right place, with the right facings and the right point of sale, so shoppers can find and buy it.

Why does merchandising affect sales so much?

Most purchase decisions are made at the shelf. Out of stock, poor siting or missing point of sale removes the product from the decision entirely.

Frequently asked questions.

Can merchandising be combined with sales calls?
Yes. Most FOTS field visits do both: sell in, then leave the shelf right before moving on.
How often should stores be visited?
It depends on rate of sale and how much the category is contested. New listings benefit from early and frequent visits.
Do you supply the point of sale material?
We place and manage it; production can be handled by you or arranged through us.
